Last Thursday I introduced our adult and young adult February reading contest, “Love Your Library”. We are excited that we’ve already had people in to pick up their reading cards and books. It looks like we are off to a great start!

Last Thursday I introduced our adult and young adult February reading contest, “Love Your Library”. We are excited that we’ve already had people in to pick up their reading cards and books. It looks like we are off to a great start!

Like I said last week, we are almost shameless in our push to encourage reading in this community. We can tell you we see people regularly who find answers (or escape) for life issues through the books that check out here at EPLD. We’re happy to be a part of the process that makes life better. We encourage the kinds of reading that help people grow, and also the fun of reading that provides time for your mind to relax.

During February we encourage you challenge yourself and try something new in your reading program. If you tend to be a mystery reader, look at our new biographies. If you like historical fiction, check out a nonfiction book about from the time period you enjoy. Another suggestion is to plan on dropping into our Thursday morning “Stacks & Snacks” and see what new books and authors we are highlighting this week. We’ll have the coffee on, and provide you with an hour of suggestions for books to add to your reading list.

Oh, and I promised a picture of our reading contest gift basket…so here it is!
