Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society will meet on Tuesday, at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Ehrlicher Research Center, 719 N 11th St., Pekin.
Claudie Huey, a native-born Pekinite, will present Where in the world is it?
It's in Pekin! — a slide program showing many buildings, facilities, institutions, and other landmarks in the city of Pekin.
Claudie is a graduate of Pekin Community High School and Bradley University, and a long-time teacher in Pekin Public School District #108. Many of you may know Claudie from her extensive work as a community volunteer and as the owner and operator of B & M Photographic Studio in Pekin (with her husband Steve).
This presentation will be unique and fun, testing your knowledge and memory of the history of Pekin. You will gain a great appreciation for some of the architectural beauty and detail of many of the featured subjects.
The program is open to the public. A short business meeting will follow.
