The boys golf team was only one stroke away from a first-place trophy at the Streator Invitational on Aug. 27.
The Redbirds had 311 strokes, one more than first-place Ottawa.
The host school finished third with 319 strokes.
Leading the way for Metamora was Trey Tussey with a 74.
Ryan Ballard shot a 78, with Ryan Waterworth a stroke back with 79. Quinn Zircher carded an 80.
Metamora traveled to Donovan Golf Course a day later to take on Dunlap, losing 154-161.
Tussey again led the team with a 39, while both Zircher and Alex Nanninga carded 40s.
Rounding out the team was Ballard with a 42.
The junior varsity team picked up a win against the Eagles, 175-177.
Dominic Shaheen earned medalist honors with a 41.
