The Metamora girls tennis team had no problems taking care of Pekin Sept. 4.
The Redbirds picked up five singles wins and a pair of doubles victories to take the match, 7-2.
Sharyn Axelson picked up another win at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4, while Melissa Ringenberg pulled out a win at the No. 3 position, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
Lauren Parks continued her winning streak at the No. 4 position with a 6-0, 6-2 victory.
Rounding out the singles action was a victory at No. 5 singles by Kaitlyn Grieves, 6-2, 6-2, and a win by Olivia Tran at the No. 6 position, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles action, the pair of Becca Eller/Ringenberg won in two sets, 6-3, 7-5, along with the pair of Axelson/Hannah Burt at the No. 3 spot, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6.
Two days later, Metamora picked up another 7-2 victory at Normal West.
Axelson won in three sets at the No. 3 position, 6-4, 2-6, 10-1, while Parks earned a two set victory, 7-5, 7-6.
Grieves (7-6, 6-2) and Tran (6-2, 6-1) rounded out the Redbirds victories in singles action.
The girls also went on to sweep the doubles action. All three matches were played in a shortened format.
The pair of Eller/Ringenberg won, 8-5, while Parks/Kiesewetter beat their team, 8-4.
Grives/Burt won the final match, 8-6.
