Both the boys and girls golf teams took fifth place honors at the Redbird Classic on Saturday.
The boys finished tied for fourth place with Washington High School, but lost the tie-breaker with the fifth man scorecard.
Galesburg won the boys side with a 318.
Both Ryan Ballard and Quinn Zircher placed in the top 10 for Metamora.
Ballard finished in fourth with a 73, while Zircher carded a 78.
Meanwhile, the girls team shot a combined 392, three shots behind both Lincoln and Macomb. Quincy Notre Dame took first with a 346.
The Redbirds boys golf team was outshot by four strokes on Sept. 4 against Pekin, 152-156.
Tying for medalist honors with Pekin was Zircher with a 2-over par 37.
Ballard was a stroke behind with a 38.
Trey Tussey finished with a 40, whilie Ryan Waterworth rounded out the team with a 41.
The junior varsity team also fell to the Dragons 162-170.
Pekin used its knowledge of Lick Creek on Sept. 4 to beat a traveling Metamora girls golf team, 198-216.
Leading the Redbirds were Abby Young and Kelly Mayer, both with a 59.
Katie Trout had a 58, while Laura Wipfler finished with a 60.
On Thursday, the Redbirds lost at home to Galesburg, 169-199.
Joelie Zwick led the team with a 47, while Trout had a 50. Both Young and Wipfler had 51s.
