  • The TazWood Dance Company, in residence at Illinois Central College, will hold auditions for children for “Imagine! Dance!” at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in the Performing Arts Center of ICC.  Those attending should have some dance background, and they should be between the ages of 6 and 16.  No child will be refused and there is no charge for participation.
The children will have rehearsals every Saturday afternoon from 3:30-4:15 p.m. at ICC, and they will dance in the Company’s holiday concert, “Imagine! Dance!” on Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 1 and 2 at 2:30 p.m. and in matinee performances for schools, day cares and seniors on Nov. 29 for a total of four performances.
For this concert, the children will be dancing and interacting with the Company dancers in “A Party at the North Pole” section of the concert.  Children will be given dancing roles according to age and ability.
The TazWood Dance Company has offered dancing roles for children from the greater Peoria area since 1990.   In the past twenty-two years, the Company has had over 2500 children perform on the stage at ICC.  Giving children performance opportunities is very important to the Company as is offering reduced rate ticket prices for the matinee performances for children.
For information on the children’s involvement, please phone Mary Dexter, Artistic Director, at the Company 367-9754 or at 367-4644.
