  • Metamora's volleyball team won a back and forth game against Limestone Sept. 25 at home, 25-20, 17-25, 28-26.
    Destiny Adkins led the Redbirds with nine kills and Taylor Kells racked up 24 assists.
    Jordan TerBush shut the Rockets down at the net with four blocks and Erika Wilson accumulated 16 digs.
    The team beat Canton on the road Thursday, 25-12, 25-3.
    Abby Barrow led the Redbirds with nine kills for the game and Kells added nine aces and 22 assists.
    Kells and Cassidy Ioerger each added two blocks and Brooke Ahrens chipped in five digs.
    The Redbirds took third in the Sterling Invitational Saturday.
    The team started the day with a 20-11, 20-9 win over Peoria Christian and followed it with a 20-6, 20-6 crushing of Morrison.
    To close pool play, Metamora beat Rochelle, 20-9, 20-7.
    The team lost its only game of the tournament in the semifinals, 20-16, 20-16.
    Metamora won third with a 25-14, 25-14 win over Dakota.
    The team next plays at 5 p.m. Thursday at home against Dunlap.
