Peoria, IL – The Illinois State Police announced the results of a Roadside Safety Check held during the late evening hours of Oct. 27, and early morning hours of Oct. 28. The detail was conducted on the Bob Michel Bridge near River Road, by ISP District 08 Troopers.
Alcohol is involved in over 40 percent of fatal crashes in Illinois. RSCs are designed to remove alcohol-impaired drivers, however, when other violations are observed such as driving with a suspended or revoked license, operating a vehicle without a valid registration or insurance, or safety belt violations, enforcement action may be taken.
