  • Metamora's wrestling team packed a lot of action in one day when it hosted a meet and came away with wins over Illini Bluffs and Eureka but a loss to Morton.
    In the 52-27 win over Illini Bluffs, Ryan Brooks pinned his foe in 0:55 and Lucas Munter won on a pin in 1:52.
    Kyle White also made short work of his foe in 0:57 and Matt Rettig put a win on the board with a quick 1:33 pin.
    Jared Ambrosch exposed flaws in his opponent's strategy to win an 18-6 decision.
    In the 37-33 win over Eureka, Munter started things with a pin in 1:34 and White followed it up with a 0:48 pin.
    Rettig took his match on a 5-2 decision and Jack Friedrich won a majority decision, 9-1.
    Metamora closed things with a 41-30 loss to Morton.
    Austin Tran won for Metamora in a 5:22 pin and Munter again forced a quick pin in 0:58.
    White matched Munter with a 0:58 pin and Rettig took a 6-4 decision.
    Josh Bernius won on a 5-3 decision and Friedrich won on a pin in 1:34 to close things for Metamora.
    The team next plays at 9 a.m. Saturday at home in the Metamora Holiday Tournament.
