Pat Quinn announced today 14 more counties were approved for federal disaster aid to help people and businesses recover from historic flooding in mid-April.

Counties approved today include Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Bureau, Crawford, Henderson, Knox, Livingston, Marshall, Mason, McDonough, Rock Island, Schuyler and Stark.

These add to 11 counties already approved for federal aid last week.

The Metamora Village Board voted May 21 to approve the purchase of a new police vehicle not to exceed $30,000. The new car is a Chevy Impala.
The Impala is a change from the usual Ford model the police department uses, but Metamora village trustee Charles Kamm said Chevy offered a better price for the same services.

He also said that the bypass would not be built for a while.

Heath Gerkin, Emergency 116 ambulance services director, said both people are in stable condition. Two E 116 ambulances arrived at the scene at about 3:50 p.m.
