Citizens Against Substance Abuse is hosting an Emerging Trends Summit on Jan. 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. located at the Kenneth H. Maurer Performing Arts Center at Metamora Township High School.
The main speaker for the night will be Rene Sandoval from the Peoria Multi-County Narcotics Enforcement Group. He will be educating the community about the different trends that are available to students and what every parent should know.
A Woodford County parent is going to speak about her daughter’s experience with synthetic drug use, and Vickie Lewis, Illinois Institute of Addiction and Recovery spokesperson, will be talking about treatment for these trends. Attend the summit to become knowledgeable of the peer pressures your child faces and of emerging trends in substance abuse.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information about this event, contact the Woodford County Health Department at 467-3064 or check the CASA website for updated information for this event at www.casawoodfordcounty.org.
