Joseph Andrew Miles Jr., 69, of Spring Bay, Ill., passed away at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Maunie, Ill., to Joseph A. and T. Irene (Bowers)(Pratt) Miles Sr. He married Donna (Jancola) Lambie on Oct. 11, 1980, in Spring Bay and she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Joseph Miles of East Peoria, Mitchell (Joni) Miles of Shelbyville Tenn., Shannon (David Sampson) Miles of East Peoria, and stepdaughter Jodi (Chris) White of Germantown Hills; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, James (Edith) Miles of Joplin Mo.; sisters, Dorothy Whitaker of Belton Texas, and Mary (Larry) Harrelson of Harrisburg, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved stepfather Bob Pratt; a brother, John Miller; a sister, Elva Ballard; and stepson, Brian Lambie.
Joe was a truck driver for Caterpillar working for 30 years and retiring in 1994. He then drove for Calihan & Company Meats for 10 years.
His hobbies were fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking, playing poker and spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Rev. Dr. Joe Richard officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded after services with burial of ashes in Spring Bay Cemetery at a later date.
