Man robbed at Northwood Park

A 20-year-old Morton male was robbed by two men the afternoon of Feb. 27 at Northwood Park, 22220 N. Main St.

The victim, who was beaten with a club, called 911 for help around 2:15 p.m. He was transported to Methodist Medical Center.

The suspects, 18-year-old Dustin D. Payton of Mackinaw and a 16-year-old male juvenile, were apprehended by Morton Police officers at Allentown Road and Severns Lane near Mackinaw.

Both were arrested for aggravated robbery.

Payton was transported to Tazewell County Jail, while juvenile authorities were notified of his arrest.
