  • State officials will welcome 56 cadets to the ranks of Illinois State Police Friday morning at a graduation ceremony in Springfield.
    ISP Director Hiram Grau formally addressed Cadet Class 120, followed by the oath of office ceremony.
    The new troopers will be assigned to districts throughout the state beginning Monday, March 11, 2013.
    While attending the ISP Academy, the cadets went through a 25-week rigorous regimen of physical and classroom instruction which included training in Terrorism Awareness, Domestic Violence, Critical Incident Response, Firearms Training, First Responder Certification, Illinois Vehicle Code, Criminal Law, Motor Carrier Safety, Emergency Pursuit Driving, Juvenile Law, Police Response to Mental Illness, and more.
    Ten of the new troopers served in the United States Military.
