Peoria Skeet and Trap Club open house March 23-24

’Ol Dan, the Pump-Gun Man, a local exhibition shooter, will put on a shooting demonstration at 12:30 p.m. March 23.

The event is part of the Peoria Skeet and Trap Club’s annual open house, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 23-24. The public is invited.

Hands-on instruction in gun safety and trap and/or skeet shooting, sign-ups for summer trap league and youth shooting programs are among the activities.

Free food will be provided both days. Everyone is welcome, including individuals, families and groups.

Those interested can shoot for member prices both days ($3.75 per 25 targets).

Participants must provide their own shotguns (12 or 20 gauge). Hearing and eye protection is required and will be available at shooting ranges.

Shells are sold at the club house (FOID card is required for all shell purchases).

Peoria Skeet and Trap Club is located at 1470 Spring Bay Road, East Peoria, on Ill. Route 26, five miles north of the junction of routes 116 and 26.

Club facilities include 10 combination skeet/trap shooting ranges, an air-conditioned, non-smoking club house, outdoor covered pavilions, ample parking and handicap accessibility in a family-friendly environment.

Youth and women shooters always are welcome.
