Circle of Promise is an outreach effort of Susan G. Komen for the Cure that is aimed at engaging African American women through a mix of inspiration and information. Women of color are twice as likely to be diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer and thus, their mortality rates are much higher when faced with this devastating disease. Circle of Promise volunteers are working to change the statistics. They know that early detection is the key to saving lives. So, they are spreading the word about screening, breast health awareness and prevention.
