Illinois Central College’s Professional Development Institute will host a free infrared technology workshop from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. May 16 at ICC North Campus’ Hickory Hall, 5407 N. University St., Peoria.
Attendees will receive practical application information on effectively using their infrared camera, including how to locate thermal bypasses and underperforming insulation with a blower door test, how to track down the sources of water leaks, and how to identify defective windows.
The class will help residential contractors and energy auditors prepare for Illinois Home Performance certification and stay up-to-date on the latest building science techniques. Building Performance Institute (BPI) certified professionals are eligible to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through successful completion of the workshop.
This workshop is recommended for residential contractors, home inspectors, energy auditors, architects, engineers, and remodelers. It is appropriate for beginners as well as seasoned professionals and is part of the Building Science Training Series.
