Despite slipping from third place after Saturday's league tournament at Metamora was completed, the Lady Panthers still improved two spots from 2012.
Combining its 4-2 dual mark with fourth-place tournament outcome, Washington had 10 points for the season.
Metamora moved ahead with a third-place result in the M-I finale. The Redbirds were credited with 10.5 points for the fall.
The Lady Panthers had 12 points in the tournament. Three of its entrants reached the semifinals.
Senior Madison Duchaine collected the third-place in No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 win over a Metamora netter.
Senior No. 2 singles player Emma Michelfelder and the Washington second doubles combination of junior Dara Megyesi and senior Meghan Mooney both wound up fourth.
On both occasions, the Lady Panthers lost third-place matches to Morton.
Junior Megan Adams and senior Heather Spillman were fifth-place recipients in No. 1 doubles.
The Potters won their third consecutive conference championship by tying second-place Dunlap for the second year in a row at the tournament.
The M-I's bottom three consisted of Pekin, East Peoria and Limestone, respectively.
WCHS 9, Central 0
The Panthers roared to a lopsided home win over the Lions Oct. 7.
Washington did not lose a set and rarely surrendered a point to overmatched Central.
Duchaine (6-0, 6-0), Megyesi (6-0, 6-0), Michelfelder (6-1, 6-1), Mooney (6-0, 6-1), Erin O'Brien (6-1, 6-3) and Meryl McDaniel (6-1, 6-3) all won in singles.
The Lady Panther doubles teams of Heather Spillman/Megan Adams (6-1, 6-3), Ellie Hipp/Rachel Zwilling (6-1, 6-0) and Bree Harrison/Marissa Iverson (6-0, 6-0) also were victorious in straight sets.

The Lady Panthers trounced the Raiders Oct. 8 in a non-conference dual at Illinois Central College
With a 6-2, 6-4 No. 1 singles win, Duchaine reversed a loss to Sarah Kurth of East Peoria in Washington's 6-3 M-I win Aug. 27.
Megyesi (6-1, 6-1), Adams (7-5, 6-0), Michelfelder (6-2, 6-1) and Harrison (6-2, 6-2) also were victorious in singles for the Lady Panthers.
Washington's Spillman/Adams (6-0, 6-0) and Megyesi/Mooney (6-1, 6-0) easily won in doubles action.
Postseason: Washington is in the 10-team Dunlap Sectional this weekend.
The top-four finishers in singles and doubles will advance to the Oct. 24-26 Illinois High School Association state final.
