  • PEORIA — An attempted home invasion was possibly thwarted by an alarm system Thursday afternoon in Central Peoria.
A resident at 1905 N. Linn St. told police he was in the living room with another person when someone tried to kick in the front door of the home, according to a Peoria police report.
The resident immediately pushed the panic button on his home security system, sounding an alarm as the suspect fled from the front porch.
When officers arrived, they found a trail of blood from the broken glass at the front door leading to the middle of the street.
No other injuries or theft were reported. Police did not identify a suspect or description in the report.
