  • THREE EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
    1. After delaying the concert by a month, the Lady Antebellum Take Me Downtown Tour will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday at the Peoria Civic Center. The group, consisting of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, has won the “Vocal Group of the Year” award from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music three years in a row. They also have earned five Platinum singles, including their recent song, “Downtown.”

    2. Opening for Lady A will be Kip Moore, who has a current top five hit, “Hey Pretty Girl.” His 2012 album, Up All Night, was the best-selling country album released last year. In addition, his first No. 1 single, “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck,” held the top spot on the country charts for two weeks, the first solo artist in four years to do so.

    3. Also opening for Lady A is Kacey Musgraves, who released her debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, in early 2013. Her album debuted at the top of the country charts, the first solo female artist in five years to accomplish that feat as a rookie. Her Top 10 single, “Merry Go ‘Round,” recent was certified Gold.
