Frank A. Vidoni, 77, of Pekin, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at his home.
Frank was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Chicago to Arrigo and Anna Danelutti Vidoni. He married Eris J. Gustoff on Aug. 29, 1964, in Pekin.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Eris of Pekin; three daughters, Valerie (Ed) Slack, Jill (Rob) Bucher and Stephanie (Scott) Hartung; three grandsons, Benjamin Bucher, Clayton and Alexander Slack; and one brother, Eugene (Marsha) Vidoni.
Frank was a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from the Bradley University Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering program. He then worked as a consulting professional engineer, including eight years at Vidoni and Associates and then eight years as Warren County engineer, retiring in 2001.
Frank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, the Knights of Columbus and was a former member of the Pekin Elks Lodge. He was his grandsons’ biggest cheerleader at their sporting events.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin, with Father Michael Andrejek officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Illinois Army National Guard and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at a later date at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
