The Metamora varsity girls basketball team played against the No. 1 Mid-Illini Conference team Friday for a 69-41 loss. The Lady Redbirds were held to zero points in the first quarter while Morton racked up 19 of its own. Metamora came back in the second to put up 20 on the board to the Potters additional 26 to make it 45-20 going into the half. At the end of the third, Metamora was down 30 after being outscored 12-7. Metamora came back in the fourth to outscore Morton 14-12 and finished the game 69-41. Metamora's Peyton Roehnelt led the Lady Redbirds in scoring with 11 points. Heather DeLuca was next with nine and Kari Lalumandier contributed five. Metamora's record was set at 2-18 and 1-7 in the M-I after the loss.
