[Warning: This story contains major spoilers from American Horror Story: Coven's season finale. Read at your own risk!]
American Horror Story ended another installment with a lot of death. Again. And finally named the new Supreme, although the old one wasn't quite as dead as we all thought.
The Supreme contenders - Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), Madison (Emma Roberts), Misty (Lily Rabe) and Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) - pass through the first two of the Seven Wonders easily, but when the quartet head to hell, Misty gets stuck and permanently dies. One down, three to go. The girls turn the next test of transmutation into a game of tag, but it goes awry when Zoe accidentally transports herself on top of the metal gates on the property, impaling herself to death. When Queenie fails to bring Zoe back to life, that means she's also not the Supreme. Madison refuses to resurrect her competition and demands to be named the new Supreme.
Not so fast, Madison! Myrtle (Frances Conroy) points out that Cordelia has royal blood in her veins, which means she has great power and could be the next Supreme. Cordelia then breezes through most of the Wonders with flying colors.
When Madison fails Divination, she decides to go back to Hollywood and reveal the truth about the coven. But she won't get away that easily. Kyle (Evan Peters) kills Madison for letting Zoe die just as Cordelia brings Zoe back to life, completing the Seven Wonders.
Now the new Supreme, Cordelia's eyes have healed and she's back to normal. She takes a tip from Madison and decides to go public, doing an on-camera interview to discuss the coven and hopefully attract new witches to their cause. With the coven on the rise, Myrtle owns up to killing other witches - the previous council, who will be replaced by Zoe and Queenie - and tells Cordelia she needs to be burned at the stake.

In the weeks after Myrtle's death, there are young women lined up around the block to enroll at Miss Robichaux's Academy. But before the new students enter the premises, Cordelia discovers that Fiona (Jessica Lange) isn't really dead. Fiona faked the whole thing with the Axeman (Danny Huston) so she could discover the identity of the new Supreme and kill her. Fiona admits that she does love her daughter, but Cordelia isn't having it, calling her mother a monster. Fiona as good as begs Cordelia to kill her and ends up dying in her arms after what turns out to be their first embrace. Fiona wakes up in hell almost immediately, now living with the Axeman in some backwoods bayou shack.
