The Redbirds now stand with a 5-0 record.
    Metamora 3, O’Fallon 2
It was a scoreless game with O’Fallon until the Redbirds were able to post a run on the board in the top of the third.
Brady Fairfield, after stealing third, was able to get across the home plate when Trent Johnson hit a ground ball to left field.
The Panthers answered back with a run after a runner scored on a Metamora error with two outs.
A tough two innings allowed no runs scored and only three runners on base for both teams combined.
O’Fallon grabbed a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning when a runner got to home off a line drive.
Metamora tied it up with a run by Zach Theiler after advancing to home in the seventh.
In the bottom of the seventh, Metamora closed it with a double play, knocking out the runners at second and first.
The start of the extra inning put Ethan Skender on base after a double and Johnson advanced to first after being intentionally walked.
Johnson was out on a double play, along with Brendan Nachtrieb.
Skender, on third, ran for home after a passed ball to grab the lead.
O’Fallon finished with three batters at the plate. The first grounded out, the second struck out swinging and the third flied out to Theiler in left field.
Fairfield and Johnson both went 2-3 at the plate. Skender and Jacob Guede each had a hit.
Geremy Guerrero pitched 5.1 innings with seven strikeouts.
“We were fortunate coming back in the seventh and eighth,” coach Eric Stone said.
“It’s a great win and a great character builder for us. Even down to our last out we pulled through.”

Galesburg put up the first runs on the board in the third inning to make it a 2-0 game.
In the fourth, Galesburg added one more but Metamora answered back with two.
The fifth inning was big for the Redbirds. Skender had a grand slam to ensure the win for Metamora and held Galesburg in scoring for the rest of the game.
Skender finished with four RBIs. Brady Fairfield had two runs scored with Skender and Caleb Brachbill had one.

    Metamora 13, Dixon 1
In the second game, the Redbirds needed just five innings with Dixon to take the win.
“We jumped on them early. We have a pretty high ceiling offensively,” Stone said. “We felt pretty good, not saying we’re going to put 13 runs on the board every day but were going to be a pretty tough offense to keep down.”
Metamora posted four runs in the first inning and followed it up in the second with another five.
Dixon was able to get a run on the board in the third and Metamora answered back with one of its own.
Three runs were scored for the 10-run rule in the fourth inning. Neither team scored in the fifth.
