  • Two more wins were added to the Metamora varsity girls soccer team record with victories over Dunlap and Peoria Christian.

    After the wins, the Lady Redbirds now stand with a 5-1 record.

    Metamora 5, Dunlap 0
    The Lady Redbirds earned its third Mid-Illini Conference victory with a 5-0 win over Dunlap (3-2-2) April 15.
    Metamora was topped by the Eagles on shots on goals, 8-7, but came out of it with a win. 
    Three goals were scored in the first half by Brittany Johnson at 10:49 and 16:00 and Sarah Waters at 12:39.
    Peyton Roehnelt was there with the assist on Johnson’s first goal.
    In the second half, Metamora put another one in at 52:13 by Johnson with another assist by Roehnelt.
    Johnson scored the last one of the night with just 7 minutes left with an assist by Jailin Allen.
    Kate Keller was in the goal for all the 80 minutes and finished with eight saves, all from the first half.
    Metamora 1, Peoria Christian 0
    Metamora earned another win Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Peoria Christian (2-3) at home.
    The Metamora offense out shot the Lady Chargers 12-2 and shots on goal, 9-1.
    The only goal of the game was scored by Laura Wipfler in overtime at 47:28.
    Roehnelt led with shots on goal with four. Keller finished with one save.
