  • Runnin’ Red earns first in M-I duals, ABC invite

  • The Metamora varsity girls and boys track and field teams won Mid-Illini Conference meets with Morton and East Peoria.

    The boys team held its ABC invite and earned first with 335 points.

  • The Metamora varsity girls and boys track and field teams won Mid-Illini Conference meets with Morton and East Peoria.
    The boys team held its ABC invite and earned first with 335 points. 
    Boys
    Metamora 111, Morton 53, East Peoria 21
    The Runnin’ Red earned a M-I victory with a home meet against Morton and East Peoria.
    The varsity track and field team placed first in 13 events.
    In the 4x800, Nick Bradshaw, Joel Anglin, Keaton McClure and John Crotteau ran for first in the 4x800-meter relay at 8:57.
    Jacob Mitchell, Erik Inman, Will Moore and Garrett Dominy finished in second in the 4x100 at 45.40.
    Metamora earned first in the 4x200 with John Rebholz, Inman, Dominy and Mitchell finishing at 1:38.4.
    In the last relay, Metamora ran for first in the 4x400 at 3:36.6.
    Jake Gillum finished first in the 3200 at 10:21.6 and Matt Wipfler ran for second at 10:33.2.
    In the 1600, Travis Scheirer finished in second at 4:39.5 and Wipfler was in third at 4:59.
    Cal Urycki earned first in the 110 hurdles at 15.5 and in the 300 hurdles at 43.1.
    Will Moore earned first in the 100 at 10.8 and in the 400 at 52.2.
    In the 800, John Mangold ran for first at 2:00.8 and finished the 200 at 24.03 for second.
    Danny Ausman earned second in the high jump at 5-feet-10-inches and Urycki was in third at 5-10.
    Shawn Albertson earned first in the pole vault at 10-06.
    Nick Holman earned third in the long jump at 17-08.
    Metamora earned first-third in the triple jump. 
    Urycki was in first at 39-10, Alex Giesler jumped for second at 37-06.5 and Ausman was in third at 36-10.
    In the discus, the Redbirds earned first-third.
    Cade Neuman was in first at 129-10, Jake McGrew finished in second at 124-0 and Rebholz was in third at 112-0.
    In the shot put, Tom Hutchison threw for first at 41-01. McGrew earned second at 39-10 and Neuman was in third at 39-08. 
    Metamora ABC invite
    Page 2 of 3 - The Metamora boys track and field team hosted its ABC invitational Friday and earned first with 335 points. Sterling was in second with 202 and Galesburg in third with 201.
    In the A section, Metamora had eight finish in first, six in second and three in third.
    In the 4x800, Jason Argo, Gillum, Mangold and Scheirer earned first at 8:08.72.
    In the 4x100, Inman, Dominy, Moore and Mitchell earned first at 44.74.
    The Runnin’ Red ran for second in the 4x200 at 1:36.38 and the 4x400  at 3:35.05.
    Moore ran for first in the 100 at 11.16. Moore finished the 400 at 50.88 for second and ran the 200 in 22.93 for second.
    Crotteau, in the 3200, earned second at 10:05.49.
    Urycki earned first in the 110 hurdles at 15.71 and second in the 300 hurdles at 43.04.
    Mangold completed the 800 for first at 2:03.78.
    Gillum earned first in the 1600 at 4:38.24.
    In the high jump, Inman earned third at 5-10 and third in the long jump at 19-00.75.
    Urycki earned first in the triple jump at 41-05.5.
    In the pole vault, Kyhl Willey earned third at 11-00.
    Tom Hutchison threw for fourth in the shot put at 44-03 and Neuman earned second in the discus at 137-04.
    In the B section, the Redbirds had nine finish first, four in second and three in third.
    In the C section, Metamora had nine in first, one in second and one in third.
    Girls
    Metamora 88, Morton 68, East Peoria 30
    The Metamora varsity girls track team traveled to East Peoria with Washington for a M-I dual April 22.
    The girls Runnin’ Red ran for first with 88 points over Morton’s 68 and East Peoria’s 30. Metamora earned first in 10 events.
    Gillian Urycki earned first in the 200-meter at 27.03 and in the 400 at 59.46. In the high jump, she earned first at 5-feet-0-inches and in the long jump at 16-10.
    Ashlyn Rulis ran for first in the 1600 at 5:47.18.
    In the triple jump, Ashleigh Schierer earned first at 30-5 and in the pole vault, Gabrielle Anglin earned first at 7-6.
    Page 3 of 3 - In the relays, Metamora earned first in the 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800.
    Schierer, Britlyn Long, Molly Sluga and Danica Dragoo ran for first in the 4x200 at 1:55.9.
    In the 4x400, Long, Raven Gutierrez, DeLuca and Dragoo earned first at 4:28.19.
    In the 4x800, Rulis, Gutierrez, Dragoo and Alexis Grieves took first at 10:09.42.
