  • The Metamora girls varsity soccer team earned a big win, 1-0, over Morton. The Potters loss ended a five-year Mid-Illini Conference win streak.
    Morton may have outshot the Lady Redbirds on the goal, 7-3, but came up short when mid-fielder Brittany Johnson scored the lone goal of the game three minutes into the second half. Kari Lalumandier aided Johnson with an assist.
    Johnson finished with three shots on goal. Nicole Rose and Peyton Roehnelt combined for three shots.
    In the net for the 80 minutes was Kate Keller with six saves.
    After the win over the Potters, Metamora is still undefeated in the M-I, 5-0, and the overall record is set at 8-2-0.
