  • The Metamora boys and girls varsity track and field teams hosted Dunlap April 29 for its last home meet and Senior Night.
    Boys
    The Runnin’ Red boys are undefeated in the Mid-Illini Conference in duals. The boys M-I meet will be May 13 hosted by Limestone but will be at Dunlap.
    The boys earned a win over the Eagles, 83-62.
    Metamora went 2-2 in the relays with Dunlap.
    In the 4x800-meter, Joel Anglin, John Crotteau, Nick Bradshaw and Jacob Gillum ran at 8:27.5 to defeat Dunlap.
    Jason Argo, Travis Scheirer, John Mangold and Gillum ran the 4x400 at 3:34.85 for first.
    Metamora was defeated in the 4x100 by 2.9 seconds and the 4x200 by 3.79 seconds.
    In the 3200, Matt Crotteau earned second at 10:54.5. 
    Urycki ran for first in the 110 hurdles at 15.92 and in the 300 hurdles at 42.09.
    In the 100, Tim Brennan earned first at 12.10 and Argo earned first in the 800 at 2:04.5.
    Will Moore ran for second in the 400 at 52.38 and Mangold finished in third at 53.35.
    Matt Wipfler earned second in the 1600 at 4:49.3.
    Call ran for first in the 200 at 23.9. Brennan was in second at 24.8 and Jones finished third at 25.6.
    In the high jump, Nick Holman earned first at 5-feet-10-inches and Ausman was in second at 5-08.
    Kyhl Willey earned second in the pole vault at 12-00.
    In the long jump, Alex Giesler earned second at 17-02.75 and Holman was in third at 17-01.5.
    In the triple jump, Urycki earned first at 40-4. Ausman was in second at 35-00.5 and Giesler earned third at 35-00.
    Tom Hutchison threw for second in the shot put at 43-00 and Cade Neumann earned third in the discus at 131-02.
    Girls
    The girls fell short when running against Dunlap to finish with 62 points to the Eagles’ 84.
    In the relays, Dunlap edged out Metamora in all four.
    Bethany Spradlin ran for first in the 3200 at 12:59.5. 
    In the 100, Gabrielle Anglin earned first at 17.11 and in the 800 Ashlyn Rulis pulled through for first at 2:34.
    Alexis Grieves earned first in the 400 at 1:01.54 and second in the 100 at 13.03. She ran for first in the 200 at 27.1.
    In the hurdles, Gabrielle Anglin earned first in the 100 at 17.11 and second in the 300 at 52.76.
    Addison Freitag earned first in the high jump at 5-00 and second in the long jump at 14-02.25.
    In the pole vault, Gabrielle Anglin earned first at 8-00. Carolyn Kimbro received third in the triple jump at 27-05.25.
    Page 2 of 2 - Taylor Buley earned first in the shot put at 27-00  and Hannah Mueller threw for second in the discus at 89-02.
    Gene Ward Invitational
    The Runnin’ Red boys then traveled to Champaign for the Gene Ward Invite Friday to earn first over the 16 teams present.
    Cal Urycki had a successful day on the hurdles to earn third in the 110 hurdles at 15.51 and in the 300 hurdles at 40.91.
    In the 110 hurdles, Cal Urycki earned fourth at 15.9.
    In the relays, the Runnin’ Red boys earned sixth in the 4x100, fifth in the 4x200 and fourth in the 4x400.
    In the 4x800, Argo, Scheirer, Mangold and Gillum ran for first at 8:03.16, 27 seconds ahead of second.
    Mangold earned first in the 800 at 1:57.36 and Anglin received fourth at 2:03.31.
    In the 1600, Scheirer earned second at 4:30.09 and Gillum ran for fifth at 4:37.76.
    Crotteau ran for third in the 3200 at 10:13.48 and McClure was in fourth at 10:19.97.
    In the high jump, Ausman tied for third at 5-10. Willey earned third in the pole vault at 13-00 and Cal Urycki was right behind in fourth at 12-06.
    Tyler Dingeldine threw for sixth in the shot put at 43-09 and Neuman was in fifth in the discus at 132-11.
