  • The Village of Metamora is planning for its future, and the village is inviting residents and business owners to be part of the process by attending a Comprehensive Plan Open House on June 25.
The open house will be held at Metamora Fields Golf Club. It will last from 5-8 p.m., and individuals may arrive at any time and stay as long as they like. The open house is part of the process to develop a new village comprehensive plan. Metamora is working with the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission on this planning process, which is establishing goals for village improvement and providing a framework for future growth.
At the open house, individuals will be able to review the draft goals and action items for community improvement. The goals and action items address issues like economic development, infrastructure, and recreation. Comment sheets will be available on which residents can provide their feedback on the draft recommendations. Residents also will be able to review a draft future land use map that identifies areas where the community could potentially grow in the future.
Brief presentations about the planning process will be given at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The process to develop the plan is being led by a committee that consists of residents, business leaders, and village officials. The input of residents and business owners is being sought so that the comprehensive plan can address the village’s most important issues in an effective manner.
For more information about the open house or the comprehensive plan process, contact Nick Hayward of Tri-County Regional Planning Commission at 673-9330 or nhayward@tricountyrpc.org.
