  • Authorities arrested a Lincoln woman following a crash on Interstate 74 early Friday morning.
According to the Illinois State Police, District 08, Amy N. Cox, 32, was charged with DUI, driving to fast for conditions and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Cox was driving her 1999 Black Mercedes on eastbound I-74 at milepost 98.5 at a high rate of speed and rear ended a 2006 Jeep driven by Lisa L. Lucas, 48, of Metamora at 1:51 a.m. The impact caused Lucas’ Jeep to flip over the median cable wires and land into the westbound lanes.
Traffic was diverted off of I-74 onto the Pincrest exit in both directions until the clean-up was completed.
The Illinois State Police were assisted with this crash by the East Peoria Police Department, Creve Coeur Police Department and the East Peoria Fire Department.
Both drivers were transported to OSF Saint Francis with non-life threatening injuries.
