Work will start in three weeks.
PEORIA – Lane closures on Business 24 in Washington are expected in three weeks.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced earlier this week that an upcoming patching project will result in the intermittent lane closures on Business 24 between Cummings Lane and Zinser Place. The work will begin once IDOT crews have completed a three week patching project in Illinois 29 between Fischer Road in Creve Coeur and Camp Street in East Peoria.
The lane closures in Business 24 are necessary for crews to complete patching work. IDOT officials said the lane closures will continue for three weeks.
IDOT officials remind all motorists to slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
An earlier announcement that appeared in the Aug. 20 edition of the Washington Times-Reporter gave an incorrect start date for the Business 24 work.
