  • Musician and actor CeeLo Green drew the ire of many over the weekend when he posted a series of tweets regarding the nature and definition of rape. On Tuesday, Variety reported that TBS had canceled his reality series CeeLo Green's The Good Life. But despite the timing of both, the show's cancellation may not be related to Green's controversial comments.
On Sunday, Green took to Twitter to challenge the preconceived definition of rape, saying things like, "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!" and "When someone brakes (sic) on a home there is broken glass where is your plausible proof anyone was raped." The comments have since been deleted, and Green subsequently issued an apology over Twitter, which was also later deleted.

The former Voice coach was previously accused of sexual assault stemming from a 2012 incident when a woman claimed he slipped a drug into her drink and the next thing she knew she woke up naked next to Green. There was not enough evidence for prosecutors to proceed with a rape charge, and on Friday, Green pled no contest to giving ecstasy to the woman and will be on probation for three years and will perform 360 hours of community service.
The Twitter controversy, which spurred some groups such as the women's rights organization UltraViolet to call for the cancellation of CeeLo Green's The Good Life, apparently had nothing to do with the show's demise, however. The series had already been axed after the completion of filming Season 1 earlier this year, according to Variety.
