Iwo Jima to be recalled

The Red Nose Gang will remember the 67th Anniversary of The Battle of Iwo Jima with a special broadcast this Sunday, February 19th, 2012 from 8am till 10am on WOAM Radio (1350am).

Scheduled to appear are three Marine Corps Veterans who were each awarded purple hearts for injuries sustained in the battle.  The men live in Peoria.  The broadcast will feature interviews and conversation with the men as well as patriotic music.

“We’re proud to recognize the significance of this day in our countries history,” said Red Nose Gang Host Harry Canterberry.  “We hope that everyone will tune in and listen,” Canterberry continued.

The Battle of Iwo Jima was between the United States and the Empire of Japan and took place in 1945 during World War II.

The Red Nose Gang is heard every Sunday morning from 7am till 10am on WOAM Radio
