EAST PEORIA — Two new exhibits open in mid-October in the Illinois Central College art galleries, located on the East Peoria Campus.

<anima-animus-persona>, an exhibit by Yun Jeong Hong, opens Oct. 15 in Gallery 336B of the ICC Academic Building. A meet and greet will be from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 15, with an artist talk starting at 12:30 p.m.

In addition, Anthropozoa, an exhibit of the art of Jacob Guzan, opens Oct. 17 in the Performing Arts Center Gallery, located in the lobby of the facility.

Hong was born in South Korea. She received her bachelor of fine arts degree in 2005 from Seoul Women's University and her master of fine arts degree from the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign in 2010. Her works involve writing, drawing, sculpture, installation, video and performance.   

Guzan earned both bachelor of science and bachelor of fine arts degrees from Bradley University in 2014. He earned his master of fine arts degree at West Virginia University, in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was awarded the Dow P. Mitchell Endowed Printmaking Scholarship for 2011-2014. While at Bradley, he served as a letterpress/book arts assistant in the Gold Quoin Press. He is currently an artist-in-residence at the Prairie Center of the Arts and an affiliate instructor at Bradley.

Both exhibits run through Nov. 9.

Hours of operation for Gallery 336B are Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. The Performing Arts Center Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
