National Weather Service issues burn warning

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued an enhanced fire risk warning for Wednesday.

The combination of sustained west winds from 25 to 30 mph, with gusts in the 45 mph range, and low humidity and dry fuel on the ground will increase the risk of fires getting out of hand.

The weather service is asking that farmers not burn fields and residents refrain from burning yard waste and other materials, said National Weather Service Meteorologist Chris Miller.
