PEORIA — The region's economic development arm is apparently taking a little longer to settle on a new CEO.
The Greater Peoria Economic Development Corporation released a new position description soliciting applicants for the CEO post Thursday, citing a Nov. 17 deadline for applications.
The agency has been without a permanent leader since the start of July when its chief, Jennifer Daly, left the position to return to Iowa for an economic development job there. She'd been the group's only full-time CEO since its inception in its current form.
Since then, Dennis Kief has been filling in as an interim CEO — a position he held briefly after the group was created and before Daly was hired, as well as with the predecessor entity, Focus Forward Central Illinois.
In July, EDC board chairwoman Diana Hall had said that September was the target date to have a new CEO hired, and said at the time that members of a CEO search committee were already "going through the interview process."
She did not return a phone call Thursday seeking information on the delay and on whether new applications were being sought after the initial summertime effort.
