METAMORA — If the name of a new Metamora eatery is any indication, breakfast just got a whole lot better in Woodford County.

Biscuits and Gravy opened March 1 on the northern outskirts of the village at 920 N. Niles St. Locals will know the spot as the old Didley's Car Hop, and those unfamiliar to Didley's should know to turn at the big sign in order to get to the new restaurant.

Owned and operated by Tommy Moraga, Biscuits and Gravy offers both a breakfast and lunch menu with an emphasis of Southern-style foods. Some breakfast dishes include challah French toast, chicken and waffles, corned beef hash and eggs, and sweet potato and kale hash. A variety of sandwiches, salads, a burger and hot and sweet chicken and waffles compose the lunch offerings.

And, of course, there is a homemade biscuits and gravy dish.

Biscuits and Gravy is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and closed Monday. For more information, visit the website at
