The Pekin City Council met Monday and unanimously approved the following:
1. Authorized City Manager Tony Carson in a 7-0 vote to hire Sikich LLP to perform auditing services for fiscal years 2018 through 2020. Auditor Jim Warning submitted his resignation earlier this year.
2. Approved in a 7-0 vote the use of joint professional services of law firm Jacob & Klein, Ltd. and consulting firm Economic Development Group, Ltd. to render legal advice and administrative/technical consulting advice to amend the Southern Industrial Park Conservation Area TIF District. The cost to the city is $15,000, plus any reimbursable costs.
3. Approved in a 7-0 vote a land lease agreement at Pekin Municipal Airport with Brian Aviation Enterprise, owned by Murray Brian, for 10 years. The company will pay the standard rental rate plus a 2 percent increase.
4. Approved the replacement of the roof on Hangar B at the Pekin Municipal Airport at a cost not to exceed $10,400.
