Sharon Adams named vice president of Advocate Medical Group

Advocate Medical Group has announced the appointment of Sharon A. Adams as vice president of operations for the AMG sites of care in central Illinois.

Adams most recently served as vice president of physician services for Pekin Hospital.  She was previously the chief operating officer of BroMenn Physicians Management Corporation in Normal.  

Her varied health care background also includes administrative and management roles at two Peoria-based orthopedic practice groups: Midwest Orthopaedic Center and Associated Orthopaedic Surgeons.

“Sharon has the leadership experience that is needed during this exciting period of growth and development for our organization,” said James R. Dan, MD, FACP, president of AMG.  

“Her extensive background in health care management will prove beneficial to our initiatives in the central Illinois region.”

Adams completed her bachelor’s degree at Western Illinois University in Macomb. She received a master’s degree in business administration from University of Illinois in Springfield.  Adams is also a certified professional coder.

AMG has central Illinois physician practice locations in Bloomington-Normal, Eureka, El Paso, Lexington, Roanoke, LeRoy, Pontiac and Fairbury.
