Freida C. Mogler, 95, of Eureka, formerly of Lester, Iowa, died at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 14, 2012, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1916, in Lyon County, Iowa, to Fred and Karoline Knobloch Metzger. She married Andy Mogler on Nov. 5, 1950, in Lester, Iowa. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Randy (Evie) Mogler of Morton, Russ (Linda) Mogler of Evergreen, Colo., Jay (Holly) Mogler of Elk River, Minn.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters; Lydiann (Carl) Wyss and Pearline Streitmatter both of Washington; two brothers, Elmer (Marriann) Metzger of Lester, Iowa, and Roy (Evelyn) Metzger of Bloomfield, Iowa; three sisters in law, Alice Metzge and Esty Metzger both of Lester, Iowa, and Donna Metzger of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and one brother in law, Russell Wuthrich of Bloomfield, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Elysia Karoline Mogler, seven brothers and two sisters.
For the majority of her life, Freida lived in Lester, Iowa. At 92 years of age she and her husband, Andy, moved to Eureka.
She was a member of the Washington Apostolic Christian Church, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and from 9–9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Washington Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
