The Metamora boys and girls golf teams hosted its Redbird Classic at Metamora Fields Saturday.The Lady Redbirds were able to pull out a Mid-Illini Conference victory of Limestone Sept. 8.

In a non-conference dual at Normal West, the Lady Redbirds came out on top with a 6-3 win.The Wildcats were able to grab the No. 1 singles and doubles wins, but failed to win much else.

The Metamora varsity volleyball team begun its Mid-Illiini Conference season and had another five-game tournament in Jacksonville. At the tourney, the Lady Redbirds were able to push forward go go 3-2.

Mid-Illini Conference action opened for the Metamora varsity football team at Carper Field in Morton Friday. The Redbirds were able to pile through the Potters defense and came out on top, 45-6.

A meet at Detweiller and an invite in Galesburg resulted in wins and close wins for the Metamora cross country teams.The Runnin’ Red first ran at Detweiller Park and then at the Galesburg Invitational with 13 other schools.

The Metamora girls golf team had a smooth outing at the Brook Hill Shootout Aug. 29 to earn fifth out of the 15 teams present.The Lady Redbirds finished with a 369, 20 strokes behind first-place Batavia.
