1951 - 2016

Ann F. “Annie” Buysse, 65, of Manito, passed away suddenly at 7:33 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born May 10, 1951, in Havana to Perry Earl and Jessie Berry Prettyman; they preceded her in death. She married William L. “Bill” Buysse May 5, 1984.

Surviving are her husband Bill; her daughter, Shellie Armbrust of Creve Coeur; two stepdaughters, Kris (Stuart) Parks of Creve Coeur and Erin (Aaron) Von Holten of Springfield; one stepson, Brad (Denise) Buysse of Mundelein; and grandchildren, McKenna, Kyler Jacob, Emma, Otto and Ozzy.

Annie worked in the medical field for many years before turning her talents towards the nail profession, and it was a career choice she loved. She also loved the outdoors. When she wasn’t fishing with Bill in Kentucky, she was eagle watching with her best friend, Nancy King.

Annie had a big heart when it came to animals. Her dog, Weezie and cats, Luther, Simba and Baby Girl, meant the world to her.

Annie was a familiar face amongst the Pekin billiard crowd having been a league player for over 30 years. She loved NASCAR, trips to Las Vegas and life. She will be missed by many.

Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria is in charge of cremation.

It was Annie’s wish to have a private ceremony. Instead of tears she wanted a celebration of life, which will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to TAPS.
