Phyllis Ann Morrissey, 85, of Pekin, formerly of Farmer City, life’s journey on this earth ended, and she began her new journey into eternal life at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at Pekin Manor in Pekin.
She was born Phyllis Ann Vance April 14, 1931, in Parnell, Ill. to Clyde and Harriet “Lucile” Williams Vance. She married Thomas “Paul” Morrissey Oct. 20, 1951, in Farmer City. He preceded her in death Aug. 8, 1970.
Surviving are her son, Thomas P. (Jennifer) Morrissey of Pekin; daughter, Ann M. (Krail) Lattig of Chatham; granddaughter, Eilish M. Morrissey; grand dog, Minnie Mae; and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were both parents, along with her two sisters, Clydel Dolbert and Mary “Elaine” Kopp.
Phyllis retired from Cargo Carriers on June 30, 1993, after 20 plus years of service. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family and grand dog. Phyllis enjoyed playing cards, reading, her collection of shoes and laughing.
The family would like to thank Kyle’s Care At Home, Harbor Lights Hospice and the staff at Pekin Manor who provided loving and devoted care to Phyllis.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Father James Henning O.F.M. Conv., from Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be officiating.
Phyllis will be laid to rest next to her husband Paul at St. Joseph Cemetery on Townsend Road, Farmer City.
