Ila Louise “Ike” Grooms Lamoureux Voss, 85, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Emporia, Kan., and Pekin, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, of complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born June 12, 1931, in Madison, Kan., to Richard Grooms and Mina B. Ronk Grooms.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Eugene Voss; son, Greg Wayne Lamoureux; parents; sister, Wilma Grooms Covington; and brother, Marvin Grooms.
She is survived by daughters, Donna Lamoureux (Doyle) Ohland of Dallas, Texas, Ronna Lamoureux (Michael) Conley of Dallas, Texas, and Debbie Lamoureux, Amarrillo, Texas; stepdaughter, Shelley Voss (John) Cahmberlain of Pekin; sisters-n-law, Lori Brooks and Virginia Burgess of Pekin; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ike and Ronnie Voss were the owners of Ike’s Place in Pekin before her retirement.
Ike was known for her “home cooking,” baking the best peanut butter cookies and being a fan of the Chicago Cubs.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, Kan.
