PEORIA — Sculpture Walk Peoria has started a Crowdfunding Campaign for the 2019 event.

“We are excited about this campaign,” says committee member Steven Marx. “For the cost of a cup of coffee, everyone in the community can help be a part of bringing a piece of sculpture to Washington Street.”

The annual rotating public art exhibit has always depended on private donations and corporate sponsors to fund the walk. This year the committee is asking individuals to donate small amounts. Organizers have a goal of $2,500, which will fund a community sponsored sculpture on the 2019 walk.

The fifth annual Sculpture Walk Peoria will open on May 18 and run for approximately a year. Since 2015, Sculpture Walk Peoria has brought 54 unique pieces of large scale sculpture to downtown Peoria in an event which promotes Peoria as an arts destination and continues to be a vehicle for transforming and revitalizing the community. To date over 3,500 people have participated in the walk through public tours and events.

People can donate any amount of money to the campaign, but anyone who donates $25 will be entered into a drawing for two VIP tickets to the Sculpture Walk Peoria artists’ reception May 17. People who wish to contribute $250 or more are encouraged to contact the ArtsPartners office directly.

The People’s Sculpture Campaign will run until December and the winner of the tickets to the artists’ reception will be announced on Jan. 4. Donate at
