ROANOKE — A collection of household hazardous waste products will take place at the Woodford County Highway Department, 301 S. Main St., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15.

Accepted items include acids, antifreeze, cleaning products, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury, solvents, pool chemicals, oil-based paints, pesticides and motor oil. Items not accepted include ammunition, cellphones, electronics, fire extinguishers, lead acid batteries, smoke detectors, latex paint (can be safely dried and discarded in regular trash), propane tanks and tires.

The collection is hosted by the Woodford County Health Department and is sponsored by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
