Former Bradley baseball players Elliot Ashbeck and Cameron Roegner were recently named all-star game selections in their respective Class A advanced leagues.
Ashbeck, a right-handed relief pitcher for the Lake Elsinore Storm, was chosen for the California League All-Star Game. Through Tuesday games, Ashbeck had a 2-2 record, 2.58 ERA and two saves for the Padres affiliate.
Roegner, a left-handed starter for the Carolina Mudcats, was picked for the Carolina League All-Star Classic. Through Tuesday, Roegner was 6-3 with a league-best 1.64 ERA for the Brewers farm team.
Both all-star games are Tuesday.
In addition, former Bradley players Jason Leblebijian of the Buffalo Bisons (Blue Jays) and Mike Tauchman, formerly of the Albuquerque Isotopes (Rockies), are in the running for selection to the Triple-A All-Star Game on July 11. Tauchman was recently called-up by the Colorado Rockies.
