PEORIA — Peoria Rivermen rookie center Ben Blasko produced a January every bit as amazing as the team's overall effort.
The Rivermen went 10-0-1 in the month, and on Thursday Blasko was named SPHL Player of the Month for January.
He was a huge reason the first-place Rivermen raced away to a 12-point lead over the rest of the league.
Blasko scored six goals and added 14 assists in 11 games, and he has a 13-game pointscoring streak working, the longest in the SPHL this season.
Blasko leads the SPHL in scoring with 45 points and in assists with 30, and is second overall with a +27 rating.
The Rivermen are back in action Friday at Carver Arena against Quad City.
