CHESTERTON, Ind. — The Bradley women's golf team finished third at the Missouri Valley Conference tournament that wrapped up Tuesday at Sand Creek Country Club.
The Braves posted a four-player score of 306 to finish third for the third time in four years at the MVC tournament. They finished with a three-round total of 914, two shots behind second-place Northern Iowa. Southern Illinois won its first team title since claiming the 2007 crown at WeaverRidge Golf Club. The Salukis finished at 905 in a seven-shot victory.
Taylor Ledwein led the way for Bradley with a round of 3-over 75. The junior finished in fourth place individually at 7-over 223. Missouri State's Abby Cavaiani was medalist, defeating Northern Iowa's Sydney Eaton on the second playoff hole after they finished at 4-over 220. Thilda Staubo of Indiana State finished third, one shot out of making the playoff.
Brooke Thompson shot 77 and finished 11th at 228 for Bradley. Megan Medinger and Frankie Saban also shot 77s to account for BU's four scores. Medinger (231) tied for 16th and Saban (236) tied for 29th. Elise Emerzian shot 79 and finished in a tie for 25th at 234.
Ledwein and Saban were both named All-MVC performers for the second straight year.
