Richwoods Christian Church will host their  annual Community Easter Service on March 23rd at Richwoods High School.  A free continental breakfast will be served starting at 9:30 a.m., with the service following at 10:30 a.m. Nursery and children’s programs are offered. Casual dress is welcome. Modern music, drama, and multimedia will be offered.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness, at 7 p.m. March 20, in place of regular support groups, Lora Thomas, executive director of NAMI Illinois will speak in Room G303 at Methodist Medical Center. For more information call Ruth Mayfield at 691-2572.

FAMILIES ANONYMOUS THURSDAY NIGHT WHITE OAKS GROUP meet every Thursday, March 20 and 27th, 7-8:30 p.m. at White Oaks Center, 3400 W. New Leaf Lane.

NAACP of Peoria meets  every third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at New Hope International Ministries, 3616 N. Sheridan Road.

Wolf Wisdom OCD Support Group meets on the second and fourth Wed. of each month at the Peoria Public Library. It is open to people with OCD and their families. Call 274-4974 for more information.

Peoria Heights Public LIbrary will sponsor free tax assistance for senior citizens and people of lower incomes from noon- 4 p.m. each Thursday through April 10th. The library also has federal and Illinois State income tax forms available. For more information call 682-5578.

Adoptive Family Support Group is being held the last Thursday of each month at Lutheran Social Services of Illinois. The support group is open to all parents who have adopted or is in the process of adopting. The support group is an ongoing opportunity for pre and post adoptive families to create connections with each other and share their joys, concerns, frustrations, and questions. Families will also receive educational information about adoption through presentations and group discussions. Concordia Lutheran Grade School will hold it’s annual pancake breakfast 7:45 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5 in the cafeteria, 2000 W. Glen Ave. Cost $4/adults, $3/children under age 12. Proceeds will benefit the Concordia band.

THE ORPHEUS CLUB OF PEORIA, under the direction of Aaron Granschow, will stage its Spring Concert at 3 p.m., April 27th at Richwoods High School. The program will feature a wide variety of songs including selection from Broadway,old time favorites, patriotic songs, and sacred and spiritual choral arangements. Admission is $5 at the door.

The Peoria Municipal Band will open their 2008 summer season at 7:30 pm on June 1 in Glen Oak Park. The 50-member professional concert band will present 27 concerts in Peoria this summer. The band will be holding auditions in May for new band members and new vocal soloists.
